Internship Opportunity

Three hours credit. Great opportunity.

DC Murals: Spectacle and Story, a nonprofit organization, is recruiting for or one or two interns to participate in an important cultural project documenting and interpreting public murals in Washington, DC.

We are seeking one or two undergraduate or graduate students to dedicate an average of 8 hours a week in activities including maintaining the project website, conducting oral histories, writing interpretive material, conducting tours, assisting with public events, and maintaining archival material. Interns will interact with muralists and leaders in the cultural community, paving the way for future opportunities. We offer flexibility and time off for exams. This internship will carry 3 hours of credit; it is currently unpaid, but we hope that will change.

The work will be carried out under the general supervision of Perry Frank, PhD, Founding Director of DC Murals. Dr. Frank received her doctorate in American Studies from George Washington University in 1991.
Desired knowledge and skills include:

    • American culture, public history, art, or related fields.
